Hands‑on role with a global leader in the mining and resources industry

RIMEX is a global leader in the manufacture and supply of wheels and rims for the mining, resources and heavy industrial sectors, with operations throughout Australia and internationally.

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Trades Assistant to join our Mt Isa workshop team.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in doing the job properly and works well as part of a team. You’ll support our tradespeople and workshop operations across a range of activities while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping.

What you'll be doing

- Assisting tradespeople with day‑to‑day workshop activities

- Operating hand and power tools safely and effectively

- Moving materials and equipment using a forklift

- Assisting with general fabrication and workshop tasks

- Supporting painting, blasting and preparation activities as required

- Performing manual handling and general workshop duties

- Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas

- Following RIMEX safety procedures and secure work practices

- Working collaboratively with the workshop team to meet operational requirements.





What we’re looking for

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

- Current Forklift Licence – essential

- Previous experience in a workshop, manufacturing, mining, mechanical or industrial environment is highly regarded

- Confidence using hand and power tools

- A practical, hands‑on approach and willingness to learn

- Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the role

- Good communication and teamwork skills

- Reliability and a strong work ethic

- Commitment to workplace safety and quality

- Availability to work full‑time Monday to Friday.

Experience with welding, painting or abrasive blasting would be an advantage, but isn’t essential.
