We're seeking a detail-focused Assistant Accountant to join our Accounts Team, based at our Wetherill Park head office. This role supports payroll, month-end close and day-to-day reconciliations so it suits someone who enjoys numbers, works to firm deadlines and wants to build broader experience across finance.

Values-driven culture: Be part of a business built on trust, teamwork and long-term relationships.

In this role, you will:

- Support the fortnightly payroll cycle in Employment Hero, including loading timesheets, checking leave and overtime, reviewing pays and finalising pay runs and payslips as backup.
- Monitor leave approvals and prepare weekly new starter reporting for payroll setup.
- Assist with month-end close, including cost allocation and accrual journals,

trial balance review and finalising reports for approval.
- Complete the monthly GST transaction review in preparation for BAS lodgement.
- Perform daily credit card reconciliations and follow up missing invoices and GL allocations.
- Manage the Dext workflow, including supplier setup, GL coding accuracy and ensuring invoices are approved on time.
- Prepare and issue fortnightly monitoring and patrol response invoicing.
- Provide backup for employee expense processing and cover team members during leave and peak periods.
- Contribute to process improvements and management reporting.

Skills and Qualifications

- At least 3 years' experience in an accounts or payroll support role.
- Working knowledge of payroll processing; experience with Employment Hero is highly regarded.
- Experience with MYOB and Dext is highly regarded; exposure to SimPRO or similar is a bonus.
- Understanding of GST, BAS and month-end processes.

- Strong Excel skills and working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to meet fixed weekly and monthly deadlines.
- A flexible, team-first attitude and willingness to pitch in wherever needed.
- The right to work in Australia.
