The Assistant Accountant, Corporate role undertakes accounting functions to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of accounting reconciliations and reports to senior management and the Board of Team Super Pty Ltd and Team Super Services Pty Ltd.
The role is also responsible for the timely preparation and processing of accounts payable and related activities, and providing support to the Corporate Accountant, Manager, Corporate Accounting, and Executive Manager, Corporate Accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
The Assistant Accountant is responsible for:
- End to end accounts payable function including receipt of invoices, requesting and receiving payment approvals in accordance with delegated approvals, processing of invoices for payment, preparation of EFTs for authorisation, and processing to the general ledger in line with correct budget allocations.
- Proactively liaising with internal and external stakeholders on matters affecting the accounts payable function.
- Bank reconciliations for the Corporate group.
- Preparation and processing of Corporate credit card transactions and reconciliations.
- Fixed asset register acquisitions.
- Monthly IAS and Quarterly BAS for the Corporate entities.
- Prepare bank transfers.
- Preparation and processing of bank related transactions (e.g. rejected transactions and processing receipts).
- Preparation and processing of accounting journals.
- Daily processing of accounting related transactions.
- Maintaining accounting operations by following and regularly updating policies and procedures applicable to the role.
- Ensure that internal controls are maintained and effective.
- Troubleshooting ad hoc challenges with accounts payable and corporate accounting activities.
- Participation and collaboration in projects requiring corporate accounting input.
- Other duties as directed by your line manager or the Corporate Accounting management team.
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in accounting or working towards is desirable.
Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated intermediate to advance computer experience in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Demonstrated accounts payable experience in a medium or large size company.
- Demonstrated accounting knowledge in a commercial workplace (desirable).
- Technical proficiency, familiarity with Finance GL and Accounts Payable software (Sage Intacct desirable), spreadsheets (excel skills) and other relevant systems such as Expense management software (Prospend desirable).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills to find solutions to resolve problems or provide insightful recommendations.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Good time management, organising and prioritising work to meet deadlines and time sensitive tasks.
- Takes initiative and executes independently.
