Experienced Skin Cancer Doctor – Port Macquarie

A rare opportunity has become available for an experienced skin cancer doctor to join SunCheck Skin Cancer Care in Port Macquarie.

We are seeking a doctor to join our clinical team for 4 days per week.

This is an established clinical position with an existing patient base and approximately 12 months of forward-booked skin checks. You will be stepping into a busy dedicated skin cancer practice with full books from day one.

About SunCheck

SunCheck is a dedicated skin cancer clinic with very strong patient demand and a focus on high-quality skin cancer medicine and surgery.

Our work includes comprehensive skin checks, complex skin cancer surgery, melanoma management, and an interesting case mix of routine and high-risk patients.

The practice is led by Dr Jonathan Gordon, FSCCA, who teaches advanced skin cancer surgery and has a strong interest in clinical education. He has particular interest in mentoring doctors to help them develop from good to excellent.

Our doctors are supported by experienced skin cancer nurses, dedicated administration, high-quality equipment and well-developed clinical systems, allowing doctors to focus on clinical care.

The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced doctor who is comfortable practising with limited supervision and wants to develop a rewarding long-term career in skin cancer medicine.

SunCheck is entering an exciting period of growth, including planning for the next generation of our clinic in Port Macquarie. We are looking for someone who could become an key long-term member of the clinical team.

About you

You will ideally be an experienced skin cancer GP with advanced postgraduate training and/or SCCA Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor status.

We are particularly interested in someone who:

- Takes skin cancer medicine seriously
- Is confident in dermoscopy, diagnosis and management
- Has meaningful skin cancer surgical experience
- Takes pride in clinical quality and patient outcomes
- Enjoys continuing to develop their skills
- Works well with experienced nurses and colleagues
- Welcomes guidance, feedback and collaboration
- Values professional autonomy while enjoying clinical discussion

SCCA Fellowship, or an interest in progressing towards Fellowship, would be highly regarded.
