Locum Rehabilitation Specialist Psychiatrist - Parramatta, NSW
About the Role
We are seeking a Rehabilitation Specialist Psychiatrist for a locum placement at a specialist public mental health hospital in Parramatta, NSW. This contract runs from 21 September to 9 October 2026. You will work within a large, multidisciplinary specialist mental health service that includes several rehabilitation units, with exposure to varied patient presentations and different levels of clinical complexity. The service is part of one of NSW's largest and most diverse public health networks, with established clinical networks and solid links to a major tertiary health precinct.
- Provide specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment for patients within a mental health rehabilitation setting
- Lead clinical decision making, risk assessment and recovery-focused treatment planning
- Participate in ward rounds, case reviews and multidisciplinary team meetings
- Provide clinical guidance and supervision to junior medical staff
- Collaborate with nursing, allied health and community mental health teams
- Contribute to discharge planning and coordination of ongoing care in the community
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

About You
- AHPRA registered Medical Practitioner with specialist registration in Psychiatry
- Experience in rehabilitation or longer-term adult psychiatry
- Confident managing a broad range of complex mental health presentations
- Works effectively both autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
- Available for the full contract period
- Eligible to work in Australia
