OVERVIEW UTS College is seeking a Dean to lead its Education portfolio in Sydney, Australia. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Dean is a member of the Executive Team and will contribute to organisation-wide strategy, academic quality, innovation, and student experience. UTS College delivers pathway education programs connected to the University of Technology Sydney and operates across Australia and international transnational education partnerships. The role focuses on maintaining high-quality educational delivery while responding to changing student expectations, developments in artificial intelligence, and evolving employment and higher education landscapes. The Dean will also serve as a senior representative of the College with university stakeholders and international partners.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the Education portfolio at UTS College
- Contribute to whole-of-organisation strategic decision-making as a member of the Executive Team
- Ensure the College remains competitive, cutting-edge, responsive to market trends, and recognised for high quality
- Lead innovation and continuous improvement in learning and teaching
- Oversee quality assurance across the College, including transnational education delivery
- Lead initiatives related to student experience and student support
- Guide the Education portfolio in responding to emerging student needs and rapid sector change
- Address challenges and opportunities associated with AI and evolving employment landscapes
- Develop and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders within UTS and overseas partners
- Act as the academic face of the College to internal and external audiences
- Articulate the College’s educational model and student outcomes
- Collaborate closely with Executive colleagues and operational teams
- Support delivery of the College’s 2030 Strategy
Requirements
- Extensive senior experience within higher education
- Proven track record in educational leadership across international and domestic environments
- Ideally, experience within a pathway education context
- Demonstrated ability to lead the design, development, and execution of high-quality programs
- Strong people leadership and management skills
- Strong commercial acumen
- Ability to work collaboratively with Executives and teams across the organisation
- Highly capable communication skills
- Ability to develop relationships with senior stakeholders and international partners
- Capacity to lead quality assurance and educational innovation initiatives
