We are seeking to appoint a General Manager to oversee the business operations of the club. Nyngan is a town in central western New South Wales, located in the Bogan Shire on the Bogan River between Narromine and Bourke. The town is on the junction of the Mitchell Highway and Barrier Highway 576 km north-west of Sydney and 167 km north-west of Dubbo. Nyngan has a population of approximately 2,000 residents.

The Nyngan RSL & Civic Club offers a variety of facilities to its members, including, bistro, bar, gaming (24 machines) TAB and Keno. Food service and the Country Manor Motor Inn (20 rooms) are both operated by the Club. The Club is an integral part of the local community and the Board is very keen to maintain and develop this connection in the future.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the General Manager is responsible for achieving the Club’s objectives and ensuring that the Club operates at or above industry standards and complies with all relevant legislative and regulatory obligations. This includes directing and managing the Club to ensure it is commercially oriented and viable in the long term, through providing cost effective and high-quality services. This includes;

Developing proposals for the strategic direction of the Club taking into account vision, market conditions,



competition and the regulatory setting.

Always performing to high standards, in order to set an example for other Club employees.

Demonstrating professionalism and integrity at all times, so that Club members and their elected representatives are confident in the leadership of their Club.

Providing timely and accurate operational information to the Board of Directors.

Implementing Club policies (as determined in conjunction with the Club’s Board of Directors) on a day-to-day basis.

You will need to be a competent hands-on individual who is willing to be involved in all aspects of the business including financial administration, gaming machine management, bar and catering operations. Your people skills and personality will be a driving factor in connecting with, and building the membership and patronage of the club.
