Our client is a privately owned, globally recognised advanced manufacturing technology business combining engineering innovation, advanced technology, automation and software to support sophisticated industrial customers across international markets.

With a strong heritage and entrepreneurial culture, the company is entering an important phase of growth and commercial development, with significant opportunity to further develop its automation and integrated manufacturing solutions globally.

This is a newly created business development and market creation role, responsible for driving the new automation solution to existing customers who are using the organisations capital equipment in their manufacturing sites, building a sustainable global pipeline for this growing technology proposition.

Key priorities include:

- Build and continuously develop a high-quality global pipeline of new business opportunities
- Identify new customers, markets and applications across advanced manufacturing and industrial environments
- Proactively prospect, develop relationships and create opportunities rather than relying on an established pipeline
- Lead opportunities through discovery, qualification, solution development and commercial progression
- Understand customer manufacturing challenges and translate complex technology into compelling commercial solutions
- Work closely with product management, engineering and regional sales teams to develop customer-specific solutions, business cases and ROI propositions




- Engage senior technical, operational and commercial stakeholders across sophisticated B2B environments
- Provide customer and market intelligence to inform product development, positioning and go-to-market strategy

We are seeking:

- A senior business development or solution-sales professional (Senior Manager to Director level) with experience across industrial automation, robotics, advanced manufacturing technology, manufacturing systems or complex capital equipment - identifying and originating business opportunities with sophisticated industrial customers, OEMs, systems integrators, channel partners and/or distribution networks
- A technically credible individual who can engage confidently with engineering and operations stakeholders and translate sophisticated technology into commercial value
- Demonstrated success creating current business, opening new customers and developing markets, rather than simply managing an established account portfolio
- Experience selling technically complex solutions involving multiple stakeholders, significant customer investment and extended sales cycles
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience developing customer-specific propositions, business cases and ROI models
- Experience working with sophisticated industrial customers, OEMs, systems integrators, channel partners and/or distribution networks
- An entrepreneurial, resilient and self-directed approach, with the energy to create opportunities where an established commercial playbook does not yet exist

The role is Australia based, with a global remit in key markets and appropriate travel.
