Interim Chief Clinical Officer (Residential Services)
This is an interim position. We are looking for an experienced senior clinical leader to step into the Chief Clinical Officer role on a 6-month fixed term contract. Reporting to the CEO and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, you will lead the Quality and Residents pillars, ensuring safe, compliant and person-centred care across our three residential facilities in Ballina and Byron Bay.
You’ll protect our licence to operate by strengthening clinical governance, supporting AN-ACC performance and improving outcomes for residents.
Key responsibilities
Lead the clinical quality and safety components of our Strategic Plan
Lead clinical governance frameworks and systems that ensure safe, high-quality care
Oversee clinical workforce capability, including education, supervision, competency development and credentialing
Run a risk-based clinical audit program and ensure findings lead to corrective action and lasting practice improvement
Ensure compliance with clinical standards, accreditation requirements and regulatory obligations
Lead the annual QPS Resident Experience Survey and turn results into documented quality improvement actions, in line with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards
Provide clinical assurance on quality, safety and compliance to the CEO and Board
Manage budget and leave within the clinical business unit
Work as part of the ELT, putting collective leadership and organisation-wide outcomes first
Required criteria
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA (no conditions or restrictions)
Minimum 5 years' senior leadership experience in aged care or health related fields and executive leadership experience (preferred)
Demonstrated experience in change management
Demonstrated experience in clinical governance, quality and safety systems
Strong knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards (including the Strengthened Standards), the Aged Care Act and regulatory and accreditation requirements
Working knowledge of AN-ACC funding and care minutes requirements
Proven experience leading multidisciplinary clinical teams
Ability to meet fit-and-proper person and key personnel requirements for a senior role in regulated aged care, including a current National Police Check
Ability to travel between our Ballina and Byron Bay sites (current driver's licence)
