As our firm continues to grow, we are seeking an Asbestos Litigation Lawyer to Principal Lawyer to join our Melbourne office.

About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity for a lawyer at any stage of their career, from Lawyer through to Principal Lawyer, who is looking to work on meaningful litigation that has a lasting impact on people's lives.

We welcome applications from lawyers with asbestos litigation experience, as well as those from broader personal injury backgrounds including WorkCover, TAC, public liability, institutional abuse, dust diseases and other plaintiff litigation practice areas.

You will work closely with experienced litigators, manage your own matters, build strong client relationships and contribute to a team committed to achieving outstanding outcomes for clients.

Duties

- Manage asbestos disease and compensation matters from commencement through to resolution

- Provide strategic legal advice and exceptional client service

- Draft pleadings, court documents, correspondence, submissions and settlement materials

- Represent clients at mediations, conferences and court hearings

- Work closely with barristers, medical experts, unions and other stakeholders

- Contribute to mentoring and development of junior lawyers (Senior Associate and Principal Lawyer levels)

Skills & Experience

- Admitted legal practitioner with experience in personal injury law,



litigation or a related practice area

- Experience managing common law claims

- Experience in asbestos litigation will be highly regarded but is not essential

- Lawyers from WorkCover, TAC, public liability, institutional abuse, dust diseases or similar plaintiff practices are encouraged to apply

- Strong drafting, advocacy and negotiation skills

- Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities

- Sound judgement, initiative and a collaborative approach

- A genuine commitment to plaintiff law and helping people achieve justice
