Are you an experienced GP who enjoys mentoring, teaching and inspiring the doctors coming through behind you?
Wurli-Wurlinjang Health Service (Wurli) is seeking an experienced GP to join their team as an onsite GP Supervisor, supporting early-career GPs and registrars as they develop their skills, confidence and careers.
This is more than a supervision role. It’s an prospect to share your experience, inspire the next generation and help shape the future of general practice in Katherine, Northern Territory.
What’s the role?
As a senior GP, you will primarily provide onsite supervision, mentoring and support to GP trainees across a range of vocational training pathways, including RACGP and ACRRM programs such as:
- Australian General Practice Training (AGPT)
- Fellowship Support Program (FSP)
- Independent Pathway (IP)
- Pre-Fellowship Program (PFP)
You’ll be part of a team supervision model, providing trainees with accessible, experienced support while helping them grow into confident and capable GPs. There is also the opportunity to undertake clinical work as a supernumerary GP, if desired.

What do you need to apply?
- Hold current specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Hold Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM
- Have a minimum of five years’ FTE GP experience and be eligible for accreditation as an RACGP and ACRRM supervisor
- Demonstrate awareness, sensitivity, and a grasp of contemporary Aboriginal cultural and historical matters
- Recent experience as a supervisor of GP registrars or additional qualifications are advantageous.
NT PHN/RWA NT may be able to offer support and financial assistance to health professionals relocating to the NT or moving within the NT to a greater remoteness area classification for employment and further clinical education.
