Working within the ANDRITZ Hydropower division in Sydney, the Commercial Project Manager will manage the commercial, contractual, and financial aspects of assigned renewable energy and infrastructure projects. They will support projects from handover through execution and close-out, helping teams maintain cost control, manage contractual obligations, identify commercial risks, and achieve successful project outcomes.

Key responsibilities

Manage Project Commercials: Lead and take responsibility for the commercial set up of assigned Hydropower and Grid Solutions projects, including complex, high-value contracts.

Monitor Financial Performance: Manage commercial governance, prepare and maintain project budgets, cash-flow forecasts, cost and revenue reporting, and commercial risk assessments.

Manage Project Performance: Investigate scope variations, manage claims, and support timely corrective actions in line with contractual obligations.

Administer Contracts and Drive Changes: Support the review, interpretation, and administration of customer, subcontractor, and consortium agreements.

Partner with Project Teams: Provide practical commercial advice and ensure commercial considerations are integrated into project decisions.

Support Customers and Partners: Assist with commercial negotiations and maintain effective working relationships with customers, consortium partners, suppliers, and subcontractors while protecting ANDRITZ's contractual position.

Maintain Reporting and Compliance: Provide accurate project commercial reporting and ensure activities comply with delegated authorities, company policies, relevant regulations, and applicable quality and HSE requirements.

About you





A bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Project Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.

At least 5 years of experience in commercial project management, with a focus on precontract and sales, ideally from the power generation, renewable energy, construction, or major infrastructure sectors.

A practical understanding of contract terms and the ability to identify obligations, risks, and commercial opportunities within project documentation.

Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and Word; experience with project reporting or ERP systems will be highly regarded.

Clear communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across project, technical, financial, and legal teams.

A proactive and organised approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing project priorities and deadlines.
