Seeking a Project Officer to assist with an office relocation in Perth CBD

An exciting short-term opportunity exists with one of our state government partners in Perth CBD. We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Project Officer to support the final stages of a major office relocation and operational mobilisation project.Joining at the critical handover phase, you will provide on-the-ground support to ensure a smooth transition from construction completion through to business operations. This role is ideal for an individual with facilities management, office relocation, workplace transformation or project coordination experience who is looking to further develop their project management capabilities.
Your new role
- Support the successful transition from construction handover into operational occupancy.
- Monitor and coordinate relocation and mobilisation activities.
- Track project actions, issues and stakeholder requests to ensure timely resolution.
- Assist with project documentation, reporting and administration.
- Act as a key point of contact for end users during the transition period.
- Build positive working relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors and service providers.
- Provide face-to-face support to staff following relocation activities.
- Respond to queries and triage issues with appropriate teams where required.
- Assist with facilities management mobilisation activities.
- Coordinate and support workplace readiness initiatives.
- Ensure meeting rooms, audiovisual equipment and workplace facilities are operating effectively.
- Assist users with technology and workplace setup requirements.
- Work closely with security and operational teams to address day-to-day issues.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Prepare stakeholder communications, user guides and workplace information materials.
- Support change and transition communications.
- Capture lessons learnt and process improvements throughout the project.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be highly organised, comfortable engaging with a broad range of stakeholders, and capable of navigating both project coordination and operational support activities. This opportunity would suit someone looking to broaden their project management experience while working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Essential
- Experience in project coordination, project support or project officer roles.
- Previous experience supporting office relocations, workplace moves, facilities management projects or mobilisation activities.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to prepare transparent documentation, procedures and communications.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
- Strong customer service focus and willingness to assist end users in a hands-on environment.
Desirable
- Experience within facilities management, property, workplace services or corporate accommodation projects.
- Previous government experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience supporting project managers on workplace or infrastructure-related projects.
What you'll get in return
The role is being offered on an initial temporary contract to start on Wednesday 14th October. You will also be offered:
- 37.5 hours – Monday to Friday
- Weekly pay structure, equivalent to level 5, $69.77 + super
- Convenient location to Perth train and bus stations
- End date 20 November 2026
