Senior AI Software Engineer | Python, Java, Graph DB | Sydney CBD | Hybrid | 12 Month Contract (extendable)

Sirius Technology is working with a leading financial services organisation based in Sydney CBD to recruit a Senior AI Software Engineer for a high-impact 12-month contract.

This role sits within an enterprise AI Enablement platform team in Retail Banking, building the core software rails and infrastructure that allow engineering teams across the organisation to deploy multi-agent AI solutions. This is a core backend software engineering position requiring solid programming fundamentals, distributed systems experience, and production-grade software development. The team has been running production multi-agent environments for over a year, so we are seeking an engineer with genuine commercial production experience integrating AI systems, rather than candidates focused solely on basic experimentation, hobby projects, or quick prototypes.

Responsibilities

- Design and build scalable, production-grade backend systems and microservices in Python and Java to enable enterprise-wide AI agent deployment.

- Architect and integrate robust AI/ML pipelines into existing high-availability software platforms.

- Leverage Graph technologies to structure, query,



and optimise complex enterprise data relationships for agentic workflows.

- Build and maintain infrastructure for multi-agent platforms, state management, and enterprise security controls.

- Utilise modern AI tools and LLM capabilities to solve complex software engineering bottlenecks at scale.

- Collaborate with business unit development teams to streamline integration and maintain platform reliability.

Skills

- Strong core software engineering fundamentals with extensive commercial backend development experience in Python and Java.

- Proven commercial experience deploying production AI/ML pipelines and LLM infrastructure (beyond POCs or personal projects).

- Hands-on experience working with Graph technologies (e.g., Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, or knowledge graphs).

- Experience with, or exposure to, multi-agent enterprise software environments and complex LLM orchestration.

- Solid analytical and problem-solving capabilities within high-availability distributed systems.

- Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident (PR).
