Seniors Rights Victoria is seeking a compassionate and experienced Advocate to support older people experiencing or at risk of elder abuse. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide information, support, advocacy, referral and short-term casework through the SRV Helpline and integrated service model.
About the role
- Provide information, advocacy and support to older Victorians
- Undertake risk assessment and safety planning
- Support clients to identify and achieve their goals
- Work collaboratively with legal, advocacy and community service partners
- Contribute to service improvement and community education activities
About you
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related discipline
- Minimum five years' experience in social work or a related field
- Experience working with older people, family violence or community services
- Strong communication, assessment and client engagement skills
- Commitment to a human rights and advocacy-based approach
