1. Retail Supervisor
Salary: $67,520–$80,000
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Handle telephone enquiries, assist showroom customers and provide proactive after-sales service.
- Maintain a clean, organised and visually appealing showroom and store.
- Prepare price tags, product labels and promotional signage; assist with catalogue updates.
- Participate in meetings and training sessions.
- Assist with stocktakes, stock control, cashiering, debtor accounts, opening and closing procedures.
- Recommend new stock, display improvements and responses to customer feedback.
- Monitor competitors' products, presentation and promotions and report opportunities to the Store Manager.
- Assist with staffing plans, recruitment and selection, job descriptions and staff performance monitoring.
- Ensure staff understand employment conditions, duties, performance expectations and sales targets.
- Support staff training, coaching, customer service standards, company policies, positive employee relations and appropriate disciplinary processes.
- Assist with customer complaints, enquiries and timely professional resolutions.
- Coordinate showroom layouts, merchandise displays, approved promotions and removal sales.
- Help maintain stock security and report premises, fixture, fitting or equipment issues.
- Prepare accurate Salesperson Reports, Monthly Incentive Tracking Reports and other reports required by the Sales Manager.
- Suggest improvements to policies and processes affecting sales, profit, efficiency, safety and staff morale.
- Perform other reasonable duties delegated by management.
Experience and Skills
- At least two years' retail experience preferred, particularly in furniture or home furnishings.
- Experience with POS systems, computer software, financial transactions and stock control.
2. Storeperson
Salary: $67,520–$80,000
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, inspect, store and move stock safely within the warehouse.
- Operate forklifts for stock handling when appropriately licensed.
- Process customer collections, verify dockets and ensure correct goods are released.
- Pack, assemble, pick and prepare furniture for delivery.
- Maintain accurate stock records and report damaged, missing or incorrect goods.
- Assist with deliveries, loading, unloading and delivery off-sider duties as rostered.
- Conduct vehicle checks and maintain delivery records when performing driving duties.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, stock security and organised storage areas.
- Assist with showroom displays, stocktakes, promotional setups and general maintenance.
- Perform other reasonable duties as directed by management.
Qualifications and Licences
- Current forklift licence required.
- Current Medium Rigid (MR) truck licence required where delivery driving forms part of the role.
Experience and Skills
- One to three years' warehouse, logistics or inventory-handling experience preferred.
3. Truck Driver
Salary: $67,520–$80,000
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate company trucks for deliveries, collections and stock transfers.
- Follow road rules, approved routes, delivery schedules and fatigue management requirements.
- Check delivery documents, verify goods and ensure furniture is properly packed, loaded and secured.
- Deliver goods professionally, obtain customer confirmations and complete delivery paperwork.
- Maintain accurate run sheets, logbooks and driving records.
- Conduct vehicle inspections, maintain cleanliness and report defects or servicing requirements.
- Promptly report damaged goods, delivery issues, accidents, incidents and licence restrictions.
- Assist with warehouse duties, stock movement, packing, stocktakes and customer collections.
- Perform forklift duties only when appropriately licensed and authorised.
- Provide delivery off-sider or warehouse support as required.
Qualifications and Licences
- Current Australian truck licence appropriate to the vehicle class (MR required for MR vehicles).
- Relevant Certificate III in driving operations or logistics desirable; alternatively, at least one year of proven truck-driving experience required.
- Current forklift licence desirable where forklift duties apply.
- Suitable driving record and prompt disclosure of licence restrictions, suspensions or relevant driving violations.
- Current right to work in Australia.
Experience and Skills
- At least one year of truck-driving experience unless supported by a relevant Certificate III qualification.
4. Accounts Clerk / Accounts Officer
Salary: $67,520–$80,000
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare customer-order purchase orders for managerial approval and send them to suppliers by fax or email.
- Follow up customer-order enquiries and provide product costing for sales staff and managers.
- Enter and maintain product data in Sympac.
- Match order confirmations against purchase orders.
- Prepare and collect dockets before transport trucks and containers arrive.
- Update goods-received information and credit claims daily.
- Verify purchase prices and supplier invoices and claim credits where necessary.
- Investigate and follow up surplus, incorrect, damaged, wrong-colour, wrong-size or short-supplied goods and parts.
- Ensure overseas direct-container paperwork is received in time for PJ Custom to clear containers.
- Upload container-order information and recent product photographs to the H drive.
- Verify freight invoices and costs and claim for damaged goods or freight overcharges.
- Reprint product stickers where required.
- Print goods-received reports and advise managers of discrepancies.
- Maintain filing systems and prepare invoices for managerial checking and approval.
- Ensure settlement discounts are claimed and invoices are paid on time.
- Prepare head-office accrual spreadsheets and manage petty cash.
- Clean up back-order data in Sympac and the order filing cabinet.
- Assist with stocktakes, stationery and refreshment ordering, annual file archiving and cashier relief.
- Undertake other reasonable duties delegated by management.
5. Admin Clerk / Admin Officer
Salary: $67,520–$80,000
Duties and Responsibilities
- Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally, assist callers where practical or direct calls and messages to the appropriate personnel.
- Prepare and update advertising briefs, plans and targets before staff meetings and take meeting minutes.
- Prepare and file correspondence, including faxes, quotations, letters and memorandums.
- Assist managers with buying-trip preparations, presentation kits, business cards, supplier appointments, trade shows and exhibition registrations.
- Maintain systematic, accurate and up-to-date hard-copy and electronic filing systems.
- Protect confidential correspondence and sensitive information.
- Perform secretarial duties and organise morning and afternoon teas as required.
- Coordinate staff birthday and service-anniversary cards and ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain advertising budgets and planners and book advertising placements with media partners.
- Check advertising invoices against bookings for managerial approval.
- Assist with uploading promotions to Homemaker and Jape Furnishing Superstore websites, Facebook and other social media platforms.
- Book and order advertising materials through the Forty Winks website.
- Assist managers with advertising creative work, digital artwork and scriptwriting.
- Support promotional planning, sales-target setting, sales tags and related advertising activities.
- Assist with cocktail functions, movie premieres, special events and other promotional activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant degree, qualification or certification preferred.
