Our client is a well-established product led company that develops technology used to manage complex, high-volume operations. Their software is relied on every day in environments where downtime isn't an option, so reliability, performance, and quality matter.

The Role

You'll lead an agile product team building a distributed edge platform that securely connects thousands of devices, sensors, and control systems in real time. This is hands‑on leadership where you'll solve complex problems, set technical direction, and help shape the future of the platform. You'll have a genuine voice in architecture and design, working in partnership with your product manager rather than just delivering to a backlog.

What you’ll be doing

- Leading an agile team to deliver high-quality, cloud-native and edge software every sprint
- Providing technical guidance on quality, reliability, security, and performance
- Contributing to software design, development, and test automation
- Evaluating technology and process improvements alongside other Engineering Leads
- Championing engineering standards including code reviews, test automation, and knowledge sharing




- Supporting system rollouts, device commissioning, and ongoing user support
- Mentoring and developing team members

What you’ll bring
- Proven experience leading or guiding engineering teams in an agile environment
- Solid hands‑on experience in C# / .NET Core, TypeScript / React, or C++ / Rust / Python
- Experience tailoring Linux-based operating systems for specialised field hardware
- Experience designing how to secure, update, and maintain thousands of edge devices over their full lifecycle
- Experience in a SaaS environment using DevOps and SRE practices, with a focus on automation
- Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, PostgreSQL, and CI/CD tooling such as GitLab or Jenkins
- Understanding of protocols and interfaces such as serial I/O, HDLC, REST, gRPC, and Protobuf
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical trade‑offs clearly
- Tertiary qualifications in software engineering, IT, or computer science preferred, but experience matters most
