ABOUT THE POSITION:

Do you want to put your digital content creative skills to work for human rights? Join Amnesty International Australia and help create content that connects with audiences and amplify the voices of our campaigners, activists and rights holders.

- Fixed term, until end of December 2026, 22.5 hours per week.
- Hybrid working options available.
- Salary: $56,430.2700 per annum (pro-rated for part time), plus super and the option to salary package.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As the Digital Content Producer, you create compelling content that brings human rights stories to life across AI Australia’s social media channels, supporting our advocacy and fundraising campaigns. Working at the heart of our movement, you translate complex issues into engaging, accessible content that builds awareness and moves people to act. You stay tuned into digital culture and emerging trends, using your creativity and technical skills to connect with audiences and amplify the voices of campaigners, activists and rights holders.

KEY DUTIES:

- We’re looking to recruit a Digital Content Producer for the next three months, with a focus on creating social first video content for Instagram and TikTok, as well as contributing to other digital communications work as required.
- The role will build engagement with our priority campaign areas, as well as creating broader content that helps young Australian audiences understand who Amnesty is, what we do and why human rights matter. They’ll also work with campaign teams and activists to capture and create content around campaign moments.
- We’re looking for someone who can pitch, plan, film and edit content using a simple, mobile-first set-up and who is comfortable presenting on camera and recording voiceovers.
- The role needs someone who can work independently in a fast-paced environment and turn content around quickly, including reactive and same-day content.

QUALIFICATIONS + EXPERIENCE​

- Experience creating social-first content, able to translate complex issues into engaging, accessible short-form video.​
- Understanding of digital platforms including emerging trends,



functionality and formats – and what makes video content resonate with audiences.​
- Ability to plan, pitch and execute video content in line with overarching campaign and brand strategy.​
- Ability to plan, pitch and execute content in line with overarching campaign and brand strategy.​
- Proficiency using video editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere and/or similar programs.​
- Project management skills including task prioritisation​.

DESIRABLE​

- Experience briefing and managing external videographers and editors for larger-scale content.​
- Experience in or commitment to working with rights holders and marginalised groups.​
- Familiarity with human rights issues and social change methods, or experience working in an advocacy organisation.​

SKILLS ​

- Strong creative thinking, story-telling and ideation skills​.
- Remain effective under pressure, inducing capacity to juggle competing priorities​.
- Self-starter, showing initiative and problem-solving mind-set​.
- Keeps up to date with the fast pace of new and emerging trends​.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, able to work with people from different backgrounds. ​

DETAILS

Department: Strategic Communications, People Powered Campaigns Unit (PPCU)​

Location: Based in any action center/ co-working space, with some travel required.

Employment: Fixed-term, Part-time 0.6 FTE​

Reports to: Strategic Communications Manager​

Other Information: Must have full working rights in Australia ​
