Southern Hills Christian College is a K-12 Christian school inBedfordale, Western Australia, and is part of the Swan ChristianEducation Association. Our staff are all committed Christians, andthis belief is embedded both explicitly and implicitly in ourcurriculum and all that we do.

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiasticChaplain to join us in a part-time,permanent position commencing 27 January2027 . This position will be 2 days a week, Thursday andFriday, during the school terms.

The successful candidate will provide pastoral care, spiritualguidance, and practical support, helping students feel known,valued, safe and connected. Through your commitment to Christianministry, pastoral care, and student wellbeing, you will helpcreate a nurturing community in which every child is supported toflourish academically, spiritually, socially and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities Include:

- Provide holistic pastoral care, wellbeing support andguidance to students’ social, emotional, physical, andspiritual needs.
- Engage and support students through pastoral care programs,camps, excursions, Bible studies, assemblies and studentleadership initiatives.
- Build positive relationships with students fromKindergarten to Year 12, offering care and support throughpersonal challenges.
- Collaborate as an active member of the Pastoral Care team,helping develop support strategies for students requiringadditional support.
- Support student-led Christian activities and leadershipopportunities.
- Document student support interactions, report prioritycases promptly,



and communicate effectively with students,staff, and parents.

Essential Selection Criteria:

- Demonstrates a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christand is an active member of a Christian Church, living inaccordance with the Association’s Statement of Faith andEducational Objectives.
- Proven experience in pastoral leadership and studentwellbeing.
- Strong knowledge of adolescent development, wellbeingframeworks, and restorative practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflictresolution skills.
- Current Working with Children Check, and Department ofEducation Criminal History Check (or willingness toobtain).

Desirable Selection Criteria:

- Postgraduate study in pastoral care, counselling, oreducational leadership.
- Experience leading Christian worship or mentoring youngpeople in faith-based setting.
