Southern Meat Co is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Cashier to join our team in Lalor VIC. This is a casual position that offers flexibility while playing a vital role in delivering exceptional service to our customers. As a Cashier, you will be the final point of contact for our customers, ensuring smooth transactions and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere at our retail location. This role is essential to our operations, directly impacting customer satisfaction and our reputation as a trusted local business.

What you'll be doing

Processing customer purchases accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system

Handling cash, card payments, and other payment methods with precision and security

Providing friendly and skilled customer service to all shoppers

Assisting with bagging and packaging of products to meet customer requirements

Maintaining a clean and organised checkout area

Answering customer enquiries about products and pricing

Processing refunds and exchanges in accordance with store policies

Supporting the retail team with general store duties as required

Monitoring stock levels at the checkout and reporting issues to management

Preferred Language Italian, Greek and Macedonian, but not essential

What we're looking for

Previous experience as a cashier or in a retail environment is desirable but not essential

Strong numeracy skills and accuracy when handling cash and payments

Excellent communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanour





Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods

Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy

Customer service experience demonstrating patience and problem-solving abilities

Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work varied shifts as required

A willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and procedures

Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems is advantageous
