Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Midwife to join our team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive care to pregnant women, assisting with labour and delivery, and supporting new mothers and their babies. The Midwife will work closely with obstetricians, healthcare professionals, and families to ensure a safe and positive childbirth experience.

Responsibilities:

Provide antenatal care, including assessments, education, and support throughout pregnancy.

Assist and support women during labour and delivery, including monitoring the progress of labour and managing pain relief.

Perform deliveries, including normal and assisted births, and provide immediate postnatal care.

Educate and advise new mothers on breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.

Conduct postnatal visits to monitor the health and well-being of both mother and baby.

Collaborate with obstetricians, paediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

Provide emotional support and counselling to expectant and new mothers.

Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care,



including medical histories, assessments, and treatment plans.

Adhere to established protocols, guidelines, and regulations to ensure patient safety and quality care.

Stay up-to-date with advancements in midwifery practices and participate in professional development activities.

Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to midwifery care.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery or a related field.

Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Midwife.

Proven experience in midwifery, including labour and delivery.

Strong knowledge of antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care principles and practices.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a rapid-paced environment.
