The key responsibilities of the role include * Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Health's core values. * Provide direct patient care as rostered to the inpatients, outpatients and Emergency Department at our Rural Facilities (CSCF Level 2). * Provide leadership of the multidisciplinary team to improve care by being a role model, reviewing and developing care process, monitoring emerging issues and leading changes. * Undertake clinical responsibilities by providing patient care, liaison with other doctors, and hospital for referrals, and maintaining appropriate records and confidentiality. What we're looking for Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following: * Competence and capability in primary rural medical practice and/or emergency medicine (particularly hospital-based practice) * Experience in delivering quality care to inpatients,
outpatients and Emergency Department clients across a variety of acuity and care needs. * Knowledge and practical application of the National Quality & Safety Standards through the delivery of Safe and Quality focussed Patient centred care. * Excellent communication and ability to function in a multidisciplinary team and to provide leadership within the team. Mandatory Requirements * Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16 * MBBS or equivalent qualification eligible to apply for registration at this level with the Medical Board of Australia. * Training towards Rural Generalist fellowship completion is highly desirable either via Australian College of Rural & Remote Medicine or Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. * Minimum requirement - completed three years postgraduate or the equivalent (i.e. if an internship is counted as undergraduate component of a medical degree - this internship can be counted as one postgraduate year).
