About the role
As a member of the multidisciplinary Youth Cancer Service team, you will deliver evidence-based occupational therapy services to young people receiving cancer treatment and survivorship care. You'll work closely with patients, families and healthcare professionals to identify barriers to participation, enhance functional outcomes and support young people to continue engaging in education, employment, relationships and meaningful life roles.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values: * Provide safe, patient-centred and compassionate care considering each patient's psychological, social, emotional, spiritual, physical care and cultural needs. * Actively contribute to professional and multidisciplinary team meetings including clinical case conferences, ward rounds and team meetings, and utilise negotiation and conflict resolution skills as required to ensure services are patient centred, integrated, and improve patient outcomes * Manage an allocated caseload using effective time management and prioritisation skills, including clinical and non-clinical responsibilities and the maintenance of accurate patient records and documentation. * Participate in safety and quality and research initiatives to continually improve Occupational Therapy clinical services and patient outcomes through contributing to the identification, development and implementation of innovative, evidence based clinical practice service improvements.
