What you will do
As payroll officer, you will process pay and benefits for employees across the department. * Provide accurate advice, manage payroll records and help resolve payroll queries. You will: * process accurate fortnightly payroll transactions, including new starters, timesheets and terminations * maintain employee and payroll records and manage salary overpayments * prepare clear payroll reports and provide advice on pay and employment conditions * provide timely customer service and help employees understand payroll matters * support payroll deadlines, improve processes and keep complete records. About you
A relevant qualification or relevant work experience is highly desirable. You should have experience in payroll or human resource services, ideally in a government setting.
You should also have: * payroll experience in a high-volume transactional environment * experience using CHRIS21 or another payroll system * the ability to interpret policies and legislation and provide clear advice * robust communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills.
