About Us

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to lead quality and food safety at our Penrith manufacturing site.

You will take ownership of the site’s Quality Management System and work closely with Production and Operations to maintain compliance, resolve quality issues and drive practical improvement as Paringa prepares for its next stage of growth.

Why Join Paringa

This is an exciting time to join a growing business and play an important role in its next steps forward. You will have the opportunity to shape quality systems, develop people and work directly with Operations to support Paringa’s continued growth.

What You Will Do

- Quality systems: Own and continually improve the site’s Quality Management System, procedures, standards and SOPs.
- Food safety and compliance: Lead HACCP, GMP, internal audits, third-party audits and regulatory inspections.
- Product and supplier quality: Manage specifications, labels, claims, supplier approvals, raw materials and finished product quality.
- Issues and improvement: Investigate non-conformances, complaints and quality issues, leading root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Data, testing and people: Review quality trends, coordinate microbial and chemical testing in line with FICA requirements, and develop the site Quality team and broader workforce capability.

What We Are Looking For

- Relevant qualification: Food Science, Animal Science, Quality, Microbiology or a related discipline.
- Manufacturing experience: Hands-on Quality Assurance experience within food or pet food manufacturing.
- Technical knowledge: Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP and food safety systems, including audits, non-conformances and corrective actions.
- Practical leadership: A collaborative, hands-on style with robust documentation, analytical and problem-solving skills and the confidence to influence quality behaviours.
- Desirable experience: Exposure to pet food regulations, export requirements, supplier quality or FICA requirements would be beneficial.

We are committed to fostering a workplace that values diversity and inclusion. As an equal opportunity employer, we actively strive to build a gender-equitable team and cultivate a culture that embraces individuals from all walks of life. We welcome applications from candidates of diverse backgrounds, abilities, ages, and cultures (including First Nations Peoples).
