Take ownership of estimating across a strong pipeline of structural steel projects.
Diligent Group Australia is partnering with an established Queensland-based construction and engineering business to recruit an experienced Structural Steel Estimator .
This is a senior opportunity for someone who understands structural steel, can confidently interpret technical drawings and specifications, and knows how to build accurate, commercially sound tenders.
With a strong forward pipeline across commercial, civil and infrastructure projects , this role offers excellent remuneration, long-term stability and genuine influence across the tendering process.

Your Role
- Prepare detailed structural steel estimates and tender submissions
- Review drawings, specifications and scope documentation
- Complete material, labour and subcontractor take-offs
- Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Identify project risks, exclusions and commercial considerations
- Prepare accurate cost plans and tender documentation
- Liaise with internal project teams, suppliers and subcontractors
- Assist with tender handover following project award
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience estimating structural steel, fabrication or construction projects
- Robust understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection
- Ability to confidently interpret engineering drawings
- Strong commercial and numerical capability
- High attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and competing deadlines
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Australian construction experience will be highly regarded.
