About the Role
Reporting to the Hospitality Services Manager, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality meals that meet the nutritional, cultural and dietary needs of our residents. You will play a key role in maintaining food safety standards, contributing to menu development and ensuring exceptional hospitality services are delivered each and every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook and present nutritious, high-quality meals
- Assist with menu planning and development
- Cater for special dietary, texture-modified and nutritional requirements
- Maintain compliance with Food Safety Standards and HACCP requirements
- Complete food safety documentation accurately and on time
- Order supplies and assist with stock control
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen environment
- Operate and maintain commercial kitchen equipment safely
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and care teams to provide exceptional service
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and quality outcomes
About You
You are a team-focused cook who is passionate about providing excellent food and service to older Australians. You bring a genuine commitment to quality, care and consistency, and you understand the important role that nutrition and dining experience play in the wellbeing of aged care residents.
Essential Requirements
- Recognised Trade Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Cook
- Current National Police Check
- Current Driver's Licence
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service
- Understanding of aged care resident dietary requirements and nutrition
Desirable
- Previous experience working in aged care, healthcare or a similar environment
- Knowledge of aged care accreditation requirements
- Sound understanding of HACCP and Food Safety Standards
- Italian language skills
