We are seeking an experienced Overhead Crane Operator to join a well-established steel manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on role requiring a safety-focused and reliable individual to assist with the lifting, movement and positioning of steel products across a busy warehouse and yard environment.
THE ROLE
- Safely operate overhead cranes to lift, move and position steel products
- Sling, secure and transport loads in accordance with safety procedures
- Conduct thorough pre-start checks and report equipment faults or hazards
- Work alongside production and yard teams to ensure efficient material handling
- Assist with production and warehouse duties as required
- Follow strict quality and safety standards in the workplace
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid forklift licence and minimum 2 years experience
- Previous experience operating overhead/ gantry cranes highly advantageous
- Experience handling steel, sheet metal or heavy industrial materials preferred
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties
- Strong sense of safety and communication in the workplace
