We are seeking casual Support Workers across metropolitan Melbourne, including the northern, eastern, south eastern and western suburbs. Our participants live with a range of psychosocial, physical, neurological and intellectual disabilities, with supports ranging from community access to personal care and higher intensity in-home support. Many have small, consistent support teams, so you will often work regular shifts with the same people.
Key responsibilities
- Provide person-centred, trauma-informed support to participants living with a range of disabilities
- Assist with personal care, including showering, toileting and continence support
- Support with manual handling, transfers and hoist use
- Assist with medication in line with MHC procedures
- Support community access, appointments, social activities and shared interests
- Assist with meal preparation, household tasks and daily living skills
- Support participants with complex needs and behaviours of concern
- Follow behaviour support, risk management and safety plans
- Maintain accurate shift notes and incident reports
- Work collaboratively with participants, families and the MHC team
About you
- Experience in disability or mental health support
- Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic,
non-judgmental approach
- Ability to follow support, risk management and safety plans
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR certificates
- National Police Check and the right to work in Australia
- Valid driver's licence and a reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
