About the Role

Job Description Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of tasks and projects and ensuring compliance to plan to achieve safe and efficient delivery to the highest quality.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the Operation through the delivery of critical tasks ahead of and after mining, including Rehabilitation, Dam Management, civil construction, Tailings Dam Capping, In-pit facilities and Water Management infrastructure.
- Planning and supervision of employees and contractors to ensure work scopes are completed safely and accurately.
- Provide visible leadership, advice and support to employees and contractors.
- Manage project plans and schedules with specific focus on cost tracking and forecasting.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

About You

- Previous Supervisory experience in a mining environment.
- Open Cut Examiners Certificate of Competency and current practicing certificate (Desirable).
- Ability to manage contractors in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
- Understanding of work scopes and budget requirements.
- Exceptional communication & influencing skills with the ability to maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to build and foster strong working relationships with your team and across all departments.
- High level leadership skills with the ability to set clear expectations to the team and drive performance through transparent & concise communication and leadership.
- Strong commitment to safety, risk management, quality assurance and continuous improvement.

Location & Hours





Based on site at HVO West Howick Facility. Monday to Friday professional roster.

Based site at HVO Hunter Valley Operations. Location Working for us isn’t like working at any old mine. Hunter Valley Operations (HVO) produces some of the world’s highest quality thermal and semi-soft metallurgical coal for export. Our operation comprising of HVO North and HVO South - are in Lemington near the NSW Upper Hunter town of Singleton. Considering a career with HVO? Our operation contains two Coal Handling Preparation Plants (CHPPs) and two train loadout facilities and produces a combined 14 million tonnes (Mt) of annual output of thermal and semi-soft coal.
