Key Integrated is a commercial construction company delivering projects for established clients across the public and private sectors. To keep building our pipeline, we're looking for an experienced Estimator to join our estimating team.
In this role you'll take tenders from the first review of the documents through to submission. Your work will shape what we bid, how we bid it, and the projects we go on to deliver.
What you'll do
- Review tender documents, drawings and specifications, then build detailed, accurate estimates
- Take off and price materials, labour and plant
- Run trade packages: get in subcontractor and supplier quotes, compare them and level them
- Spot risks, opportunities and value-engineering options before they cost us
- Price D&C; projects alongside architects, engineers and design teams
- Prepare EOI and prequalification submissions
- Attend pre-tender meetings, site inspections and client briefings
- Prepare cost breakdowns, tender submissions and project budgets
- Hand over a clean, well-documented estimate to the delivery team once a job is won
- Run post-tender reviews and benchmark pricing to keep improving our win rate
What you'll bring
- 6+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction
- Working knowledge of Buildsoft, Cubit or similar estimating software, and solid Excel skills
- The ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings with confidence
- A strong understanding of construction methods, materials and sequencing
- Sharp commercial sense and robust negotiation skills
- Attention to detail, plus the ability to manage several tenders at once and hit deadlines
- Strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, or the drive to build them
Highly regarded
- A qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field
- Knowledge of the NCC, Australian Standards and local regulations
