We’re looking for a passionate and agile Branch Lead to help shape the future of library services in a refreshed Kew Library due to reopen in early 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team, deliver contemporary library experiences, and contribute to a service that connects, inspires, and supports our community every day.
A Little Bit About The Role
Our six libraries are thriving community spaces and in 2025/26 there were more than:
- 2 million loans
- 1 million visits
- 41,000 program attendees
- 91,000 enquiries
As the Branch Lead at Kew Library, you will be part of an exciting period of renewal, helping bring refreshed library spaces to life ahead of the library's reopening. You will oversee the branch's daily operations, developing and leading a committed team and ensuring services continue to meet the changing needs and aspirations of the Boroondara community.
Responsibilities
This is a fast‑paced and rewarding leadership role where you will:
- Deliver contemporary library services that support recreation, culture, education, and access to information
- Lead, support, and develop staff to foster a collaborative and high‑performing team culture
- Build strong internal and external partnerships and community networks
- Contribute to strategic projects and continuous service improvements
- Champion community engagement and lifelong learning initiatives
- Support innovative digital and customer service experiences
