We are currently seeking an experienced Safety Adviser with a mining background to join our client's team and play an key role in supporting safety performance across the operation.
About the Role
This is a hands-on safety role working closely with operational leaders, supervisors and site personnel to promote a proactive safety culture and support safe and compliant mining operations.
You will be involved across risk management, workplace inspections, safety auditing, critical control verification, incident investigation and safety systems, while contributing to ongoing safety improvement across the operation.
The primary opportunity is a permanent residential position based in regional NSW, with a comprehensive relocation package available to support the successful candidate's transition to the region.
Relocation is a requirement of the permanent position, with no permanent, ongoing FIFO or DIDO arrangement available.
While we identify the right permanent candidate and complete their relocation, our client is also open to an experienced Safety Advisor commencing on an interim contract/labour hire basis.
The interim opportunity will be FIFO, with the roster to be negotiated.
Ideally, the successful contractor may also be interested in transitioning into the permanent residential position and relocating to the region. If not, the contract will provide interim support while the permanent appointment is finalised.
About You
You are an experienced safety professional with a practical approach to workplace health and safety.
To be successful, you'll have:
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a mining environment a key requirement.
- Strong knowledge of mining WHS legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in risk assessments, workplace inspections and safety auditing.
- Experience supporting incident investigations; ICAM experience highly regarded.
- Understanding of critical risk management and critical control verification.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with operational teams and supervisors.
- Competent Microsoft Office skills and the ability to work with safety management systems.
