Indigeco is recruiting a Principal Advisor, Project Controls for our client, a leading global resources organisation. This role is based in Brisbane and will support a major refinery closure execution project, with occasional travel to site required.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced project controls or cost control professional to work across high-value, complex and one-of-a-kind project work. You will lead cost control activities, support forecasting and reporting, manage change processes and work closely with contractors, project teams and senior stakeholders.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage and guide a team of cost controllers, supporting continuous improvement across project controls processes
- Lead forecasting, progress reporting and analysis of project costs, including commitments and expenditure
- Liaise with key internal stakeholders to ensure alignment, engagement and buy-in of package forecasts
- Facilitate project change management processes, ensuring cost impacts, trends and risks are clearly captured and reported
- Review cost data, identify trends and provide analysis, insights and recommendations to support project decision-making
- Support proposal, bid and claim evaluations in partnership with contracts and commercial teams




- Prepare estimates and scenario assessments to support project planning, forecasting and delivery options

YOUR REQUIREMENTS

- At least 10 years’ experience in cost control, project controls or commercial project support for major construction packages
- Solid understanding of project management, project controls, forecasting, progress reporting and change management concepts
- Previous experience using cost management tools and project reporting systems
- Experience leading or guiding cost controllers, project controls specialists or delivery support teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across internal and external teams
- Ability to work closely with construction contractors to align forecasts, cost data, schedules and delivery plans
- Exposure to major projects, Tier 1 EPC or EPCM contractor environments will be highly regarded
