CELLAR DOOR TEAM MEMBER

Employment Type: Casual 2-3 days/week, with progression prospect to part-time or full-time permanent.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Cellar Door Team Member to join our busy Cellar Door team at Serafino Wines.

This is a key role within our Cellar Door operation, supporting all aspects of the business and ensuring consistently high standards of customer service, wine sales, and operational efficiencies. The successful candidate will join our team initially on a casual basis for 2-3 shifts/week, with a view to transition to a permanent role for the right applicant as well as progression to Cellar Door Supervisor.

We are looking for someone who is confident working across all areas of the Cellar Door operations, from delivering engaging wine tastings and providing exceptional customer service, through to Wine Club administration, processing online and phone orders, packing and organising wine shipments and assisting with stock management and general administration.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on position and is looking to take the next step in their wine hospitality career.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Cellar Door & Front of House

- Assist all aspects of a busy cellar door.

- Deliver engaging, informative and personalised wine tastings to individuals and groups.

- Provide professional wine and beverage service to customers.

- Welcome and engage guests, creating a warm, friendly and memorable experience.

- Confidently communicate Serafino’s wines, history, vineyards and winemaking philosophy.





- Assist with bookings and customer enquiries.

- Process customer purchases and Wine Club signups on POS.

- Actively promote wine sales and Wine Club conversions.

- Ensure the Cellar Door, tasting areas and retail displays are presented to a consistently high standard.

- Handle customer enquiries and resolve customer service issues professionally.

- Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash handling and daily reconciliation as required.

- Ensure the cellar door is always tidy and clean

Wine Club Administration

- Assist with the Serafino Wine Club.

- Process new Wine Club memberships, cancellations, skips and member changes.

- Maintain accurate customer and membership records.

- Process Wine Club orders and ensure orders are prepared accurately and on time.

- Respond to Wine Club member enquiries via phone and email.

- Monitor Wine Club orders and follow up on issues including failed payments, address changes and delivery queries.

Wine Orders, Packing & Dispatch

- Process online, phone and Cellar Door wine orders accurately.

- Pick, pack and prepare wine orders for dispatch.

- Prepare shipping labels and organise courier collection.

- Prepare and coordinate larger and special wine orders.

- Monitor and follow up on delivery issues,



damaged parcels and customer delivery enquiries.

- Maintain an organised and clean wine packing and dispatch area.

- Assist with stock movements between the Cellar Door, warehouse and other areas as required.

Administration & Operational Support

- General administration and daily operational tasks.

- Assist with inventory and stock control.

- Assist with replenishment of merchandise for Cellar Door retail displays.

- Assist in maintaining workplace health and safety standards

- Cleaning, vacuuming, and dusting

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will ideally have:

- Previous experience in a cellar door, winery, hospitality or premium customer service setting.

- Strong knowledge and genuine passion for wine (WSET highly desirable)

- A confident and engaging personality with the ability to connect with a wide range of customers.

- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

- Strong computer literacy is essential, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, POS, shipping/dispatch systems and the ability to quickly learn new software.

- The ability to work calmly and efficiently in a busy environment.

- A professional appearance and manner.

- The ability to work independently and take initiative.

- A strong understanding of the importance of accuracy and promptness, particularly when dealing with customer orders, Wine Club memberships and shipments.

- Availability to work weekends, public holidays and during peak periods as required.

- Current RSA and driver’s licence

Wine qualifications such as WSET and experience of Commerce 7 highly desirable.
