The Opportunity

As Head of Network Services, you will provide strategic leadership for one of Icon Water's most critical operational portfolios, responsible for the performance, reliability and ongoing stewardship of Canberra's water and wastewater network infrastructure.

Leading a large, multidisciplinary workforce, you will drive operational excellence, network resilience, asset performance and service delivery outcomes while ensuring the organisation is well positioned to meet future community needs. As a senior leader within the Customer Delivery Portfolios, you will influence enterprise decision-making, contribute to long-term strategic priorities and play a key role in delivering secure, sustainable and reliable essential services to more than 450,000 Canberrans.

What You Bring

You are a credible and influential leader with a demonstrated ability to inspire high-performing teams to deliver high-quality, essential operational outcomes for the Canberra community every day. Combining strategic thinking,



operational knowledge and sound commercial judgement, you build alignment across diverse stakeholder groups, foster performance accountability and create cultures where leaders, supervisors and frontline teams thrive.

You bring significant leadership experience from utilities, infrastructure, engineering, asset-intensive or other essential services’ environments, with a deep appreciation for the operational, regulatory and community responsibilities that come with delivering essential water and wastewater services. Recognised for your ability to navigate change, make informed decisions in complex environments and balance long-term business objectives with operational priorities, you lead with authenticity, develop organisational capability and drive outcomes that create lasting value for customers, communities and the business.

Success in this role will be supported by:

- Extensive senior leadership experience within utilities, infrastructure, engineering, asset-intensive or other essential service environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading large operational, field-based or technical workforces.
- Proven success managing complex service delivery, operational performance and water and wastewater network reliability outcomes.
- Strong understanding of asset management, water and wastewater network operations, maintenance and infrastructure planning principles.
- Experience leading organisational improvement, business transformation and operational excellence initiatives.




- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across executive, regulatory, government and industry stakeholder environments.
- Significant experience managing operational risk, safety, compliance and governance obligations.
- Strong commercial acumen, including experience managing substantial budgets, resources, contracts and business performance outcomes.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Infrastructure Management, Business or a related discipline or demonstrated relevant experience.
