Wagga Wagga

Our client, a Level 5 maternity service in the Riverina, is seeking an experienced Senior Obstetrics & Gynaecology Registrar for a locum placement running from 12 October 2026 to 29 January 2027.

The service provides obstetric care from 32 weeks' gestation alongside a general gynaecology service, with around 1,600 births a year. Your days stay varied: antenatal clinics, labour ward shifts and the Day Assessment Unit, a weekday Early Pregnancy Assessment Service, and gynaecology reviews alongside the emergency department team. That breadth suits a senior registrar who wants well-rounded obstetric and gynaecological exposure in a single placement.

You will not be carrying the big decisions alone. Consultants provide 24-hour on-call support, an obstetric registrar is on site at all times, a paediatric registrar is on site, and an anaesthetic registrar is on call overnight. The wider team includes a sizeable registrar group alongside SRMOs and residents, and a midwifery-led unit backed by experienced nursing staff, so there is always someone to share the load.

Your first day is set up properly. Orientation materials and a handover booklet are waiting in Labour Ward, Medical Administration will tell you where to collect your access card and keys, and the SRMOs, residents and senior registrars are happy to show you around theatre, the emergency department and the outpatient clinics.
