Research Implementation Officer

Social Gerontology Division

Part time, Fixed Term (3-year contract with potential for extension subject to funding)

0.4 - 0.6 FTE (30.4 - 45.6 hours per fortnight), hours negotiable with the successful applicant based on project requirements. Commencing January 2027

Salary range: $86,447 - $112,640 per annum pro rata, plus employer Superannuation Guarantee (SG) contribution and generous Salary Packaging

About the role

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to nationally significant research that has the potential to improve the mental health and wellbeing of older Australians. Working as part of the MRFF-funded Talking Mental Health study,



you will play a key role in translating research into real-world practice across community aged care services.

In this role, you will:

- Help shape and implement an innovative, co-designed program that empowers older people and aged care staff to work together on mental health and wellbeing support.
- Work closely with leading researchers, aged care providers, consumer representatives, and people with lived experience.
- Gain hands-on experience across the full research and implementation cycle, from stakeholder engagement and project coordination through to data collection, analysis, dissemination, and knowledge translation.
- Build your professional network through collaboration with partners across the aged care, health, and research sectors.
- Have opportunities to contribute to publications, conference presentations, grant applications, and future research projects.
- Develop specialist expertise in implementation science, mental health, ageing, and community aged care.

To be successful for this role

- The ideal candidate will have:
- Completion of a Bachelor degree or higher degree in a relevant discipline or have;
- Demonstrated highly relevant clinical expertise / professional experience and;
- Current TransCelerate-endorsed ICH GCP Certification (can be obtained post-appointment)
- Driver’s licence

- Applicants must be an Australian citizen or have a legal entitlement to work in Australia.
- As part of the onboarding process NARI will arrange for new employees to complete a national police check.
