Support Workers – Casual
South East and North
Frankston, Blackburn, Eden Park
Omega is a NDIS registered provider of individualised, community-based support services, working across metropolitan Melbourne. We pride ourselves on being flexible and open minded and we enjoy working with people to design supports that reflect individual needs and preferences, rather than having a one size fits all approach.
We are seeking support workers for 1:1 shifts with participants in Frankston, Blackburn and Eden Park. See below for a brief overview of each person and available shifts.
Frankston – This ideal person for this role will have a calm approach, strong observational skills and the ability to engage and motivate the person we support. There is regular engagement with stakeholders including allied health and clinical supports.
Available shifts: Thursday 10.30am – 2.30pm
What the role involves
· Working in 1:1 capacity, assisting with completion of daily living tasks, community participation, supporting development of independence and enhancing social skills
· Regular contact with stakeholders including Omega team members, SIL staff (accommodation), allied health
· Some use of personal vehicle but most community access will be via public transport
· Attending scheduled reflective practice meetings and training
Blackburn
The person we support is very social and enjoys bike riding, telling jokes, taking public transport to explore current places in the community, listening to music and DJ-ing. The ideal worker would be creative, adaptable and someone who has good problem solving skills.
Available shift: Tuesday 10.00am – 1.00pm
What the role involves
· Working with the person to plan and engage in meaningful activities, improve social skills and work toward greater independence with daily living tasks
· Support to manage appointments and maintain important daily routines

Eden Park
This role is based in Melbourne’s outer north. The role has a focus on lifestyle support, community participation and assistance to manage daily routines, including self care. The position is varied and needs support staff who will actively engage in tasks and activities that might include assistance with exercise and rehabilitation routines, feeding animals, practical assistance to attend appointments or providing transport in the person’s own vehicle.
The person we support would like to build their team with people who are authentic, relatable, have a friendly, easy-going nature, a love of animals and life experience. Basic cooking skills appreciated, particularly if you’re able to prepare vegetarian dishes.
Sleepovers may be required on occasion and will be negotiated with staff as required. Consistency,
clear communication and the ability to work collaboratively with the persons family and existing team is essential to this position.
Available shifts
Weekly
Wednesday 4.00pm – 10.00pm, Friday 4.00pm – 10.00pm, Saturday 4.00pm – 10.00pm
Fortnightly
Sunday 8.30am – 2.00pm, Sunday 4.00pm – 10.00pm
What we need from you
Essential
· NDIS Worker Screening Check
· Level 2 First Aid and CPR
· Basic computer skills
· Unrestricted Victorian licence
· Access to a reliable, insured vehicle
· Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation module
· A completed application form, current resume and brief introduction letter
Desirable
· Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services, Mental Health or similar
· Prior experience or study completed in a related area
