Its Australian portfolio includes Financial Lines, Casualty and Accident & Health, with Professional Indemnity a core part of the local offering.

About the Role

This is a Senior Underwriter role with team leadership. You will lead a team of 3 in Sydney, with scope to grow the team as the portfolio grows.

The role needs a solid technical underwriter and a strong people leader.





Your responsibilities will include:
Underwriting complex Professional Indemnity and Financial Lines risks within your authority;
Leading, coaching and developing a team of 3 underwriters;
Reviewing and signing off referrals from the team;
Negotiating terms, conditions and pricing with brokers;
Building and holding senior broker relationships across the Sydney market;
Owning portfolio growth, retention and profitability targets; and
Contributing to underwriting guidelines, pricing and team growth plans.

About You
Senior Financial Lines or Qualified Indemnity underwriting experience, from an underwriting agency or insurer;
Team leadership, 2IC or mentoring experience;
Strong technical knowledge of wordings, pricing and risk selection;
An established Sydney broker network; and
Robust written and verbal communication.

Package

Up to $180,000 plus.
