Australia

Conduct regular, detailed inspections of active building and civil construction sites, plant, machinery, scaffolding, edge protection, formwork, and electrical equipment to ensure strict adherence to WHS regulations and statutory codes.
Inspect and verify high-risk construction activities, including working at heights, deep excavations, hot work, crane lifts, and heavy plant operations, while reviewing, auditing, and approving trade contractors’ Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and Secure Work Method Statements (SWMS) prior to site access.
Inspect personal protective equipment (PPE), safety devices, and emergency response equipment (first aid, fire suppression gear), while conducting site testing to detect airborne silica dust, noise exposure, hazardous materials, and environmental risks during demolition and build phases.
Develop, verify, and monitor site-specific plant isolation and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for heavy equipment, cranes, and temporary power supply boards to ensure operational isolation compliance.
Lead root-cause investigations into workplace incidents, injuries, near-misses, and dangerous occurrences using ICAM/COMET frameworks, formulating action tracking registers,



corrective measures, and compliance reports for project directors and regulatory authorities.
Conduct site WHS inductions, pre-start briefings, and toolbox talks for site employees and subcontractors, managing Designated Work Groups (DWG) and Health and Safety Representative (HSR) consultation under applicable NSW WHS legislation.
Advise management and site supervisors on statutory compliance strategies, safety registers, and ISO 45001/9001/14001 integrated management standards, while maintaining safety dashboards, tracking overdue corrective actions, and preparing ongoing compliance reporting.

Salary: $90,000 to $120,000

Position Qualifications & Requirements:
Qualification: Diploma or Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent (AQF Level 5 or higher).
Experience: Minimum 3 years of full time, post-qualification experience as a Safety Inspector or HSE Officer within civil, building construction, or heavy industrial sectors.

Pay: $90,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
