We are looking for a Casual Cook to join the team at Pantry Glen Iris.
This is a great opportunity for a cook or kitchen hand looking to develop their skills and progress into a kitchen prep chef role. The position offers consistent Monday to Thursday hours, with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts at other venues within the group.
About the Role
Working alongside the chef in charge, you will assist with the day-to-day preparation and service of the kitchen. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is eager to learn, reliable, and looking to build their experience in a qualified kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing sandwiches and other light food items
Basic kitchen preparation
Assisting with simple baking by following recipes under guidance
Washing dishes and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen
Assisting the chef in charge during service
Following food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures
Supporting the team with general kitchen duties as required
What We're Looking For
Previous experience as a cook or kitchen hand is preferred
A genuine interest in developing your cooking and kitchen skills
Valuable communication and a positive attitude
Reliable and willing to learn
Ability to follow recipes and instructions
Someone looking for a long-term chance to grow within a hospitality group
