Working closely with our Financial Accountant and management team, you will own the customer billing and collections cycle, protecting cash flow and keeping our customer relationships strong.Key ResponsibilitiesRaising customer invoices and ensuring billing is accurate and timelyEntering and reconciling customer payments and receiptsFollowing up outstanding customer accounts,
managing collections and escalating overdue balancesBuilding positive relationships with customers to resolve payment queries and disputesSales reconciliations to Accounts ReceivableBank reconciliations and assisting with month-end proceduresPreparing debtor ageing reports and cash flow updates for managementAssisting with GST/BAS preparation and reportingMaintaining accurate financial records and filingLiaising with sales and operations teams to resolve billing and payment issuesAd-hoc tasks reporting to the Financial AccountantAbout YouThe successful candidate will ideally have:Previous experience in an accounts receivable, credit control or similar accounting role is essentialStrong sales or customer-facing experience, with confidence in having commercial conversations about paymentExperience with accounting software such as XeroGood understanding of basic accounting principlesStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent organisational and time-management skillsExcellent communication and negotiation skills, with a persuasive yet skilled approachAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamA proactive attitude and willingness to learnPrevious experience in the construction, plumbing, trades or service industry would be an advantageIntermediate experience with ExcelWhat We OfferA friendly and supportive working environmentStable position within an established and growing businessOpportunity to develop your accounting, credit control and business skillsVariety in day-to-day responsibilities
