National Civil & Foundations Pty Ltd – South Melbourne VICWe are looking for a motivated and hands‐on Assistant Accountant to join our growing finance team.Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will play an important role in keeping the day‐to‐day finance function running smoothly while assisting with AP function, month‐end reporting, reconciliations and improving processes as the business continues to grow.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, wants to develop their accounting skills and is looking to take on more responsibility over time.About the roleYour day‐to‐day responsibilities will include:Completing daily bank reconciliations and investigating discrepanciesAssisting with supplier invoice processing and APHelping with overflow of the Accounts Payable inboxPreparing and processing intercompany on‐chargesReviewing and reconciling general ledger balancesAssisting with month‐end balance sheet reconciliationsSupporting the Finance Manager with month‐end reporting and accounting tasksFollowing up outstanding items and ensuring accounts are kept up to dateAssisting with improving finance processes, systems and controlsProviding general accounting support across the wider business as requiredAbout youWe are looking for someone who is:Experienced in an accounting or finance support roleConfident with reconciliations and day‐to‐day accounting tasksOrganised, reliable and able to manage competing prioritiesDetail‐oriented with a solid focus on accuracyComfortable working independently but enjoys being part of a teamKeen to learn and develop their accounting skillsProficient with accounting software and Microsoft ExcelPrevious experience with Xero would be highly regardedYou will work closely with the Finance Manager and have the opportunity to gain exposure to a broad range of accounting and finance functions within a growing business.This is more than just an AP‐focused role.
