Our client is a well-established not-for-profit residential aged care provider based in Melbourne's south-east.
With a strong focus on person-centred care, wellbeing and community, the organisation provides a supportive environment for both residents and employees.Following a recent restructure, they are looking to appoint an experienced HR & Payroll Officer to take ownership across both the HR and payroll functions.The Opportunity This is a hands-on and varied role, suited to an experienced HR professional who enjoys being close to the business, building strong relationships and having genuine ownership across the employee lifecycle.The role will be approximately 60% HR and 40% payroll, providing an opportunity to work across both people and payroll while contributing to the continued improvement of processes and systems.You will partner closely with leaders and employees across the organisation, while working alongside Finance on payroll-related activities.Key ResponsibilitiesHRProvide practical HR advice and support to leaders and employeesManage employee relations and performance mattersSupport recruitment, onboarding, contracts and the broader employee lifecycleProvide guidance on policies, procedures and employment conditionsSupport workforce planning, compliance and learning initiativesContribute to employee engagement, wellbeing and workplace cultureBuild trusted relationships across the organisation and provide a visible HR presenceWork with external advisors where additional support is required on complex mattersAbout the OrganisationOur client is a well-established not-for-profit residential aged care provider based in Melbourne's south-east.

awards and employment conditionsMaintain strong knowledge of superannuation and salary packagingLiaise with external salary packaging providers and respond to employee queriesWork closely with Finance on payroll-related mattersSupport the ongoing optimisation of the CIM payroll platformIdentify opportunities to streamline manual processes and improve payroll efficiencyEnsure employee rates, conditions and payroll data are accurately maintainedThe organisation is currently investing in improving its payroll processes and system functionality, providing the successful candidate with the opportunity to help embed more efficient and automated ways of working.About YouWe're looking for someone who brings a strong combination of hands-on HR and payroll experience, ideally gained within aged care, healthcare, home care, disability or another highly regulated environment.Experience working across both HR and payrollStrong understanding of EBAs, awards and industrial relationsExperience managing payroll for an hourly or shift-based workforceStrong knowledge of superannuation and salary packagingExperience using payroll systems, ideally with exposure to CIMConfidence providing practical HR advice across employee relations and performance mattersAn interest in improving systems, processes and ways of workingStrong communication and relationship-building skillsThe ability to work autonomously and take ownershipA stable employment history and demonstrated commitment to previous rolesMost importantly, you'll be a practical, people-focused professional who enjoys being hands-on, solving problems and making a positive contribution to workplace culture.What's on Offer?
