It is responsible for:delivering and further developing the Victorian Government's strategic response to gambling, liquor, gambling and tobacco issuesdeveloping and implementing the government's policy on major gambling licensing processesdelivering a research and evaluation program to inform responses to gambling harm in Victoria.What you will doAs policy support officer, you will help develop policy and support projects in the liquor and tobacco policy team.
You will research issues, prepare advice and help your team meet deadlines.You will:research gambling, liquor and tobacco issues to help develop informed policy advicehelp prepare clear Cabinet submissions, briefings and letters for senior decision makers and otherssupport projects, manage competing tasks and meet agreed deadlinesbuild cooperative working relationships with colleagues, industry representatives and community groupsprovide reliable administrative support and help your team identify and resolve issues.About youYou do not need formal qualifications.
You can bring qualifications or experience in law, public policy, economics, public health or a related field.You should also have:planning and organisational skills to manage tasks and meet deadlinesclear written and spoken communication to explain ideas to different audiencesknowledge of gambling, liquor and tobacco industries, or the ability to learn with supportresearch, problem-solving and Excel skills, including advanced formulas, pivot tables and charts, alongside a flexible,
