The successful candidate will prepare and cook menu items, maintain consistent quality and portioning, and support efficient day-to-day kitchen operations during busy service periods.Location: 45 Civic Parade, Altona VIC ****Employment Type: Full-TimeSalary: $75,000 to $86,000 per annum plus SuperannuationKey ResponsibilitiesPrepare and cook a range of menu items in accordance with established recipes and kitchen proceduresRegulate temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment during food preparationInspect ingredients and food products to ensure freshness and appropriate qualitySeason food during cooking to maintain consistent taste and qualityPortion and present meals in accordance with established business standardsPrepare food to accommodate dietary requirements and reasonable customer requests where requiredMonitor ingredient usage and assist with estimating food requirements for daily serviceStore, handle and rotate food appropriately, including within temperature-controlled storage areasMaintain cooking equipment and work areas in a clean, organised and hygienic condition in accordance with food safety requirements.Work collaboratively with chefs and other kitchen staff to support smooth service operationsFollow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures at all timesCandidate RequirementsRelevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or a related disciplineMinimum 1-2 years of relevant experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchenExperience working in a pizza, takeaway, casual dining or similar hospitality environment will be highly regardedStrong knowledge of food preparation and commercial cooking techniquesAbility to maintain consistent food quality, portioning and presentationSound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and secure food-handling practicesStrong teamwork, communication and organisational skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environmentOnly candidates currently residing in Australia will be shortlisted
