It puts real weight on a strong, proactive safety culture across its own people, its project teams and its contractor partners.The OpportunityThis is a 3-month contract with possible extension.
You'll help strengthen the safety systems that underpin a complex, high-profile infrastructure program.You'll own the frameworks that keep people secure: the Safety Management System, procedures, training, reporting and assurance.
You'll also stay close to the work, giving practical advice to project teams, leaders and contractors.You'll have the chance to make a visible impact early.
That means turning safety data into insight, making systems simpler and more effective, and helping build a culture where safety is led from the front.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain and continuously improve the Safety Management System (SMS)Review and update safety procedures, standards, forms and guidance documentsDesign, develop and maintain safety training, induction and competency programsManage safety reporting systems, dashboards and performance metricsAnalyse safety data, trends and leading indicators to identify improvement opportunitiesCoordinate incident, hazard and corrective action reporting processesMaintain key safety documentation,



registers and recordsSupport safety assurance activitiesDrive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen safety performance and cultureSupport the implementation of safety initiatives across projects and business functionsProvide practical safety advice and support to project teams, leaders and contractorsPromote workforce engagement through coaching, communication and proactive safety leadershipAbout YouTertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety, WHS or a related disciplineSolid experience in a safety systems, HSE advisory or safety management role, ideally within major infrastructure, energy, construction or utilitiesHands-on experience developing and maintaining a Safety Management System aligned with ISO ***** and Australian WHS legislationProven ability to write clear, practical procedures, standards and guidance materialExperience designing and delivering safety training, inductions and competency frameworksStrong analytical skills, with confidence building dashboards, reporting on performance and interpreting leading and lagging indicatorsWorking knowledge of incident investigation, hazard management and corrective action processesExcellent communication and influencing skills, and comfortable coaching and engaging people at all levels, from site crews to senior leadersHighly organised, detail-focused and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environmentAvailable at short notice for a 3-month contract, with flexibility for a possible extensionFull Australian working rightsExperience on large-scale construction projects will be well regarded.
So will familiarity with safety management software platforms and exposure to contractor safety management.
