The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Packaging Manager to lead packaging operations at our Berri site.Reporting to the Packaging Manager AU, this is a Full time, Permanent role and is responsible for overseeing production activities to ensure production is delivered on time, within specification and within budget across a 24/5 packaging operation.
The operation includes multiple production lines covering still wine, sparkling wine and cask packaging.The Packaging Manager will lead a high-performing team, drive continuous improvement initiatives, promote a lean manufacturing culture and create a safe, productive and progressive working environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & ProductionDeliver production activities in accordance with the production plan and budget requirements.Drive machine efficiency, labour productivity and operational performance.Promote continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.Ensure departmental standard operating procedures remain current and are followed.LeadershipLead, coach and develop the Packaging Operations team.Manage performance, safety, attendance, work standards and operational efficiencies.Ensure employees are appropriately trained and competent to perform their roles.Build a culture of teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement.Support return-to-work programs and workforce planning initiatives.Safety,



Quality & CompliancePromote and maintain a safe workplace and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.Support compliance with quality standards through the application of standard operating procedures.Ensure internal auditing requirements are completed.Support certification and risk management systems, including HACCP, BRC, ISO**** and ISO*****.Budget & ReportingSupport the management of packaging budgets.Manage team leave planning and workforce rostering.Contribute to capital planning activities.Analyse and report operational and budget performance.Approve payroll transactions within Kronos and ensure accurate operational reporting.Qualifications and ExperienceMinimum 5 years' functional management experience in a large-scale multi-shift packaging production operationDemonstrated leadership capability with the ability to lead, motivate and develop teams.Intermediate computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and database systems, including CMMS.Sound business and financial acumen.Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, Food Technology or Business Management.Previous experience within the wine industry will be highly regarded.Additional RequirementsCurrent driver's licence.Flexibility to work outside normal business hours when required.Availability for occasional business travel.Willingness to undertake additional training required for the role.Employer: Vinarchy Australia LimitedLocation: Berri, South Australia
