This is a hands-on project delivery position with responsibility for managing electrical and engineering projects across workshop and customer mine sites.You will work directly with customers, engineering teams, supervisors, tradespeople, suppliers and management to ensure projects are delivered safely, commercially and technically.Depending on your background, the position can be structured around either a Project Manager or Project Engineer level appointment.Projects may include:Underground electrical equipment overhauls and upgradesFlameproof substations, DCBs and electrical distribution equipmentBelt starter and control system projectsElectrical manufacturing and switchboard/control panel projectsUnderground equipment modifications and engineering upgradesSite installations and commissioningCompliance testing and electrical auditsShutdown and maintenance projectsEquipment rebuilds and major workshop projectsCustomer-specific engineering and improvement projectsWhat You'll Be Responsible ForYou will take ownership of projects from handover through engineering, procurement, production, testing, site delivery and close-out.Your responsibilities will include:Managing project scope, programme, budget and commercial performanceDeveloping project schedules, milestones and delivery plansCoordinating engineering, procurement, workshop production and site activitiesWorking directly with mine-site engineering and maintenance personnelManaging customer communication, meetings, reporting and project expectationsReviewing drawings, specifications,



scopes of work and technical documentationIdentifying project risks and resolving issues before they impact deliveryCoordinating labour, materials, subcontractors and suppliersMonitoring project costs, committed expenditure, labour hours and forecast cost to completeManaging RFIs, technical clarifications and customer approvalsIdentifying and managing scope changes and variationsSupporting estimating and tender preparation for new projectsCoordinating FATs, inspections, testing, commissioning and project handoverEnsuring project documentation, quality records and MDR requirements are completed correctlyWorking closely with workshop supervisors and tradespeople to remove production constraintsConducting site visits and supporting installation and commissioning activities as requiredEnsuring projects comply with customer requirements, Australian Standards, procedures and applicable mining legislationAbout YouPrevious experience working within underground mining operations is essential.You should understand how underground mining projects actually operate - the setting, equipment, safety expectations, operational pressures and the importance of getting equipment back into service.Ideally, you will have experience in some combination of:Underground coal miningElectrical engineering or electrical projectsUnderground electrical distributionFlameproof and hazardous-area equipmentElectrical control systemsMining maintenance or engineering departments
